Why we won't win.
We can’t win against Cameron. You might think I’d be optimistic after what we’ve seen in Egypt, but no, I’m not.
If we want to do this peacefully then Cameron isn’t listening; he thinks that we simply don’t understand what’s happening, he thinks we don’t know whats in our best interests. This couldn’t have been clearer than at the student...

Thomas Chatterton (Something I found in my notes)
The bright afternoon sunlight illuminated the dark attic room, the slight form of a young man could be seen sprawled on the bed. In the light summer breeze shreds of paper whispered across the worn wooden floors, his short life’s work in ruins. A small bottle rolls across the floor, the last of its toxic contents spilling onto the floor, soaking the papers - his genius, like his life...

Privatisation of the NHS
This country is about to change, as anyone who read the Torygraph this morning knows. If not http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/8337239/How-we-will-release-the-grip-of-state-control.html There is it. Try not to be sick.
Cameron and his Tory mates conspire to sell of anything they can. This isn’t about Localism - this is about corporate profit. Everything they sell won’t be bought by...

Why I'm ashamed to be British
It makes me so horribly ashamed to be British when you learn that the bullets being fired into Libyan protesters were provided by the British Government. Or perhaps the assault rifles and ammunition we sold to Bahrain? Or the ammunition and body armour we sold to Yemen?
The government might have propped out countless genocidal dictators but this isn’t and never will be in my name....
I'm going to live forever or at least die in the...
On Born This Way
Ok so I realise this may be about to cost me followers but Born This Way isn’t all that. Life affirming lyrics are nothing new. The melody is nothing new. The beat is nothing new. She’s hardly a radical, and yet you’d think she’d really done something big and brave and new the way Tumblr has reacted.
And for me it’s not even a good Lady GaGa song, it’s not...

AV Reform
Well sadly I turn 18 2 weeks after the polling day, but that’s not about to stop me sharing my thoughts on it. Weighing up how I would have voted I suppose?
So I suppose I should set out my position first - I’d quite like to see the coalition broken and I’d also like to see voting reform. But as Nick Clegg put it so aptly, AV is a ‘pathetic little compromise’. I...

The Tax Heist. →
So to those who won’t read the whole thing our tax system is basically being changed so that large companies can avoid even more of it than ever before.
This government just stinks of the contempt of the ruling class, trying to push this through on the sly. Please take a few minutes of your life to find out how the government is shafting us yet again.
‘The old lie’ is no...

On The Lockerbie Bombing
You know why I think al-Megrahi isn’t still rotting in a Scottish prison cell? Not because he had prostate cancer and he was released on compassionate grounds, but because he didn’t do it, or at least no-one can prove he did. And just when it seemed like he would be proved innocent - and the trial exposed as a sham by a second appeal he was released.
The initial trail was variously...

Sobering Moment.
We have certain rights in this country.
We have the right to life. But we also have the right to dignity.
As far as I’m concerned if those two become incompatible (as a result of illness or disability for example) if you have the mental faculty then you have the right to choose between them.
Drugs.
If you don’t like drugs then please delete your entire music library. Because you know what? All that fabulous music that has enhanced your life and made your life so much richer? Well most of the people who made it were really fucking high.
Drugs are a personal choice. Don’t like drugs? Don’t do drugs - I’m not forcing you. But don’t get too high and mighty about...

Shameful.
I think its shameful that during this time of upheaval and revolution in Egypt that the words on the lips of every Western leader is not ‘Democracy’, it’s not even ‘Fairness’. It’s ‘Stability’.
What Western leaders are really after is stability and a government that works with the West. We want lower oil prices. We want countries that labour away...
